Fireball loses his dignity!

Poor Fireball. Daughter decided to play dress up with the kitties last night and pulled out the elephant hat. Midnight went looney trying to get it off, Athena tried to run away upstairs and Fireball patiently sat and let her do this to him. And he's SMILING. *G*
Today has been okay, but not great. Son lost everything he'd eaten within a 24 hour period last night right before bed and then proceeded to sleep a very long time today, but it was troubled with coughing. When he woke today he seemed tired, but no fever and I decided to give him the day off and just to stay home this evening from the Y. But, like every other day for the past few days he's yo-yo'ed with his energy levels. He insisited on doing his schoolwork, he wanted to go sit on the porch and he wanted to go the Y this evening. So, feeling unsure but selfish, we went. He had a blast and seems to be feeling much better tonight. But, I have talked to him about not running around or jumping around. And no, it's not the flu and it's not a cold. It's the darn allergies, and drainage in particular.
After arriving back home, I rushed to get the lawn mowed. Chris was supposed to do it this weekend, but his allergies were bugging him, even though he kept saying he would do it. Then it rained all day yesterday and I learned it is supposed to rain tomorrow as well and I couldn't take looking at the yard anymore, SO. I mowed it. *G* And if it happened to be 8pm, well. So be it.
I STILL haven't been reading. There was such a brou-haha with Son last night, he was a lap baby and then getting sick. And today worrying about him and household stuff. I hope to read tonight at bedtime. Cross your fingers for me!
And that's all for today. It's been slow, yet not today. At least it reached 80 outside. *g* I hope that y'all had sunshine today and smiles on your faces and hearts. I wish a pleasant and lovely Spring day for y'all tomorrow. Goodnight, B.
Exercise: 1 Hour Yoga. AND I mowed the lawn. That counts, right? *G*

Layla and Daughters Desk!

This is Daughters Desk. She is ecstatic to have a wide open space that is all hers to do her schoolwork on. In the corner is her collection of handmade teddy bears made by Vermont Teddy Bears. And right next to her desk is her laundry basket. ON her desk is her stereo and collection of snowglobes. *g*
The next picture is of Layla. Daughter took it. We all think Layla is her cutest when she's asleep, except no one can see her pretty blue eyes! *sigh* She's started picking her fur again. I noticed it a few days ago, which is why the search for a salve. I really don't want to have to give her the medication the Vet prescribed.
Today started out nicely. The sun was shining and it was a tad windy. Son woke up a bit warm again, and looked glassy eyed and very pale with purple under eyes. Poor baby. BUT, within two hours he was fine and running around and the sky had opened up and poured. I think the sideways lightening, high winds and torrential rains were a nice touch. *G* We had planned to go hiking again today. But, knew the storms were coming. *G* Every darn Sunday lately it has rained. *G* We're hoping for next Sunday, so cross your fingers.
Remember me telling y'all that I had to put the seedlings outside yesterday? That may not have been my brightest moment. When we woke up today the winds were pretty high. I had placed the little seedlings in the big container I bought yesterday, meaning to plant them today because I was busy with all our allergies, laundry and dinner last night. Um, like I said, not the brightest moment I've had. Turns out the wind knocked over the container and the egg carton the seedling were in went flying all through our backyard. Nothing was salvagable. So, want to guess where I went this afternoon? Yes! Back to WW for more seeds. *sigh* We found the Dahlias and an actual catnip plant with no problem, but they were out of Spearmint and peppermint. There was a "mint" plant, but ooh it smelled funny. Almost like eucalyptus. Odd. Chris is going to check the other WW near us (there are 7 within 20 miles of us. *G*) , the one near where he works for the seeds. In the meantime we planted the catnip plant and Dahlia seeds and placed it outside. Where within 10 minutes one of the strays we feed had mowed through it. We had to move it to Chris' grill where we hope they won't get to it. It was funny though, while Chris was planting it in the box, on the kitchen table (What? It was raining!) our kitties were all sniffing it, but what seemed to interest them the most was the dirt! They loved the smell of the soil! It was so funny!
I haven't had a chance to read today. Son goes from feeling hyper to wanting to cuddle, so I've had my hands full! *G* Add in more laundry, feeding everyone and now posting I still feel like I could have done more. Um, maybe why I decided to make chocolate chip cookies for the family. *G* (Not to mention wanting to treat them. )
And except for more laundry and cooking the rest of the cookies, I am done for the evening. I hope that y'all had a relaxing day. One filled with something nice. I wish a stress-free and a good energy level to deal with everything. Goodnight and Love, B.
Exercise: I meant to today. I really did, but it managed to get away from me somehow. Back to Yoga tomorrow, though.

A pretty sculpture near our home!

This is a pretty sculpture situated in an industrial park about 2 miles from our home. (It seems longer. *G*) Also please note the geese in the photo with baby geese! They were so cute. Oh, and the cool thing about this industrial park? It has gorgeous landscaping with sidewalks, trees, a pond with a fountain, and this sculpture. There's something about this sculpture that I really like. It is fluid and graceful, almost loving.
Today has been one big allergy attack for Daughter and Chris, and I have been suffering a bit since we arrived home this evening. *g* Daughter has not stopped sneezing all day. Her nose is stopped up and eyes are watering. Poor baby. Son is the only one that doesn't seem that affected, BUT he's been coughing since last night, all through the night and all day and evening today. *sigh* We ran a few quick errands this afternoon and then came home to stay.
We went by PetSmart today looking for a topical ointment that will help Layla, but the only one I found had alcohol in it (and it was a spray, who SPRAYS a cat?), which could irritate her skin anyway. So, I will be ordering the ointment I found online instead. I haven't given her the steroids that the Doctor gave us. I'd like to try something "safer" first. OOOOH, and the little plants we are trying to grow? Are starting to sprout. *G* I had to move them outside onto my porch instead of in my kitchen window last night. The cats (Midnight, with Fireball playing lookout) starting trying to dig them up! Stinkers!
We ran by BAMM today to see if they had any of the books I've been looking for, but no such luck. I did pick up the latest issue of RT magazine, though. (And I finished the P.C. Cast book, Warrior Rising. LOVED IT! Mythology has always interested me, so her Goddess Summoning books are such fun!)
After that we had one last stop to Lowe's where we picked up some bug killer, grass seed, a bigger container for the seeds we planted and a new hose nozzle. Oh, so interesting, right? *G*
And then, home. Where everyone is suffering in not so quiet, if you count the sneezing and sniffing. *G*
Nothing else to share, sorry. I hope y'all had a lovely day and enjoyed the beautiful sun and your surroundings! I wish a peaceful and relaxing Sunday for y'all. Goodnight and Sweet Dreams, B.
Exercise: Nope.
Oh, there's a video below this one of a couple of the kitties!

Oreo looks bashful!

Doesn't Oreo look quite bashful in this picture? Which is hilarious because this is one kitty that is not shy around us! As a matter of fact, we call her the kitty with an attitude. And joke that she is the kitty that needed Prozac. She has anger issues. *G*
Today went allright. I am not tired. YAY! And Son is feeling better, YAY! No fever for him, which made us all want to do the 'Happy Dance'. *G* He's not as hyper as usual, but still loads better today. Although, it's funny, because he told me this evening that he wasn't having a good day. Because his sister was walking behind him and accidentally stepped on his shoe. *G* He's so funny. And cute. *G* I made it to the library today and picked up two books: False Profits by Patricia Smiley and Mummy Dearest by Joan Hess (who I wish would do another Maggody book!). And I informed them that they had a book on my account that I had returned a week ago. She was nice about it and checked and sure enough, it was on the shelf. *g*
After that I took Son (with Daughter) to get his hair cut. I was tempted to do it myself this week but then Chris reminded me that Son drives me batty when I cut his hair. The stress is just not worth it. *g* But, while talking to the lady that cut his hair today I did find out that the older woman who was so rude to me last time no longer works there. Yay. OOH, bad Brandy. I try never to be happy at someone else's misfortune, but she was mean and deserved getting asked to no longer work there. Yup, you read that right.
Son looks absolutely cute with his now shorter hair. I can't believe it had been 5 weeks since his last cut! When we were done there we headed to WW for grocery shopping. FUN! WHY do kids ask for everything when in that store? Buy me this, can I have that......blah, blah, blah. *sigh*
We somehow managed to get out of there without leaving a kidney for payment (but, they did have a book that looked interesting Wolf At the Door by Christine Warren that I picked up, hey it was only $3!) and then went by ANOTHER grocery store where they make salads that 3 out of 4 of us enjoy. (Son had chicken and apple juice, sorry no veggies, he refused them.) I picked up 3 of those for dinner tonight because after all that, I did not feel like cooking! *G*
And besides laundry, that's all I've managed to do get done today. Last night I started reading Warrior Rising by P.C. Cast. I am really enjoying the book so far, the best friends she placed in this book are hilarious! I hope to finish it tonight. Then onto the library books I picked up today!
I hope that y'all had a pleasant Friday. That some form of fun or laughter entered your lives. I wish a relaxed and enjoyable Saturday for y'all. Goodnight and Hugs, B.
Exercise: Not yet. Been a bit busy. Hoping to before bed. Cross your fingers for me. *G* UPDATED: A bit over 3 miles on the treadmill @ 6 incline.

Not exactly best friends!

Layla and Patches tolerate each other, but they are not the best of friends. As seen in this picture. It's funny really how many of the kitties don't get along, but yet manage to live together in mostly harmony. *G*
Today hasn't been much fun. I didn't mind the overcast, dreary day. I don't like that Son isn't feeling well. He's doing a bit better now, thanks to some Motrim, but earlier he was flushed, feverish, cranky, mauldin, and sensitive to EVERYTHING. I couldn't take him out to pick up some ginger-ale and didn't have anyone to babysit, so Chris got off early and picked some up for him on the way home. Son complained of his head hurting, too. So, a bit ago we gave him some Motrim for the headache (not the fever, we've been told that those should 'burn" themselves out as the bodies way of fighting whatever is attacking it, to a certain point anyway). He seems much better now and even ate something for the first time today. Cross your fingers it stays down.
I read the No Rest for the Witches anthology with MaryJanice Davidson, Lori Handeland, Cheyenne McCray, and Christine Warren. I liked MJD's story the best and would enjoy seeing those characters again. I also liked Christine Warren's story. After finishing that book last night I was a happy camper. But, I tried to read On the Line by Kathryn Shay this afternoon and couldn't get through it. There's just something about it I flat out don't like. If that wasn't frustration enough, I checked my library's website today and found that out of the books and movies I returned yesterday one book hasn't been checked in. Since Daughter put everything in the drop for me, I asked and she assured me it was one of the returned books. *sigh* But, to make sure while Son was napping this afternoon we tore the house apart looking for it, even checked the Jeep again. Nope. It has to be at the library. So, if Son is feeling better tomorrow I need to go check. I can't call again. It took a lot to get up the nerve to call yesterday.
No exercise today, either. I didn't want to disturb Son and also I still feel tired. Way tired.
And that's my day. Not much fun, but it's mine. I'm just glad Son feels a bit better. I hope that y'all had a nice day. That health and contentedness (It is SO a word. *G*) followed y'all. I wish a lovely, and stress-free friday for y'all. Goodnight, B.
Exercise: No. Too darn tired. Son sick. Basically a conspiracy of a bad day.

Midnight the scary kitty!

videoYou wouldn't think the outcome on this video would be what it is. I won't spoil it, unless you can't see the video for some reason and ask me. I will say that Daughter and I were outside the whole time and that we would not let harm come to Midnight. The dog is one I've written of before, his name is TJ and he escapes from his yard on a regular basis. He wanted to play with Midnight more than anything. Oh, and sorry if the resolution isn't great, it's from my digital camera. *G*

I have been SO physically tired today. I guess yesterday was more than I should have attempted. Or it could have been the allergy meds I had to take last night to breathe while I slept. I did still attend Yoga this evening and had a good time. I always leave there feeling happy and relaxed. AND I used a suggestion from the other teacher about a pose called the "knotted ankle"(?) and did way better than I ever have before.

I started the MaryJanice Davidson anthology this evening, but have actually not been able to concentrate on it too much. I think I'm just tired. I may read some more this evening, but the weird thing is I was enthused to get these books the other day and now? Yeah, not so enthused to read them. *sigh* I have no idea why. Oh, and while checking my library account online to see when the DVD's we checked out last week were due, I noted that they had me as having 2 books I had returned last week still checked out. I had to call the library and tell them. She put me on hold, checked the shelf and sure enough, that's where they were.

Not too much else to share. Daughter is liking her new desk, although it was bigger than we had thought! The cats are enjoying trying to climb all over it. *G* I did take a personality test today. *G* It's based on the Jung-Myers-Biggs typology test. I scored as an INFJ. Meaning Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, Judging. Which is pretty spot on actually. *G* It suggested Librarian, Law, Psychology, Counseling and Early Childhood Development as possible careers. It was almost the same as when I took it in HS! Back then, Military, Law, Police, Librarian and Early Childhood Education were suggested. *g* Have y'all ever take a personality test? Do you put much thought to their effectiveness? You can take this one HERE.

And that's it from here. I hope that y'all had a energized and happy day! I wish a laugh enthused and pleasant day for y'alls Thursday! Goodnight and Blessings, B.

Exercise: 1 Hour Yoga.

Athena, the scarcely seen kitty!

Athena is one of the strangest cats we have. She was a rescue and I don't know if that has anything to do with her not wanting to be around us, or if that's just her personality. She is very vocal, and isn't afraid of any other kitty. Now, the vacumm cleaner seems to freak her out the most. I was vacumming upstairs today and she shot out of Daughters room and I'm not sure she even touched the top step, but I know she landed on the landing next! *g*
Today has felt crazy and like I never caught up. Schoolwork went well and after that I vacummed all the floor and mopped all the other floors. During all this I did 3 loads of laundry and then the Out-laws showed up. (And just to re-inforce what I was talking about yesterday, FIL called Sunday at 1:30pm and said Hi and could he speak to Chris. He then proceeded to fuss at Chris for not having called his Mom already to wish her a Happy Mother's Day. Chris told him he was going to call but figured that FIL took her out to lunch and was waiting to call until he though they would be home. And no, even though I am the Mother of their only Grandchildren, they never told me anything. BUT, SIL sent me a card. I was shocked!) Anyway, they arrived with yard tools, shamrocks and Monkey grass to plant because for some reason the side next to my driveway that just has mulch is driving my MIL batty. *g* They did find out pretty quickly why we had left it just mulch though! The concrete from the driveway had seeped under the form when they poured it for this house and about 4 inches under the mulch they hit concrete. *G* BUT, proceeded to plant it anyway. I am leaving out all the HARD work it took to pull up the mulch, break up the "wire grass" that had been growing under the black weed fabric we had put down a couple of years ago, then rake it up. Then plant the monkey grass, and put the mulch back on top. Tired yet reading all that? Because I am! I've barely sat down today. Which is why I commented on all y'alls blogs so late. Sorry! I haven't even had time to work-out which is making me nuts AND I still have ironing to do and am making cookies because I wanted something sweet tonight. *sigh*
Oh, but to make it impossible to stay aggravated with the Out-laws they took the kids to get milkshakes this evening (Did I mention they were here over 4 hours?) and stopped by WW and bought Daughter a desk and chair. *thunk* Yes, we were looking for a desk for Daughter, yes it was very nice of them. See why they are the most generous and ornereous people I know?
OOOOH! And I forgot to tell y'all that the dresser that Daughter had, that we replaced with one that fit in her closet? Yeah, after 2 weeks of it sitting empty in her room waiting for Chris to help me get it down to the garage and calling Goodwill, I got fed up and hauled it down myself. That sucker was HEAVY! Um, and maybe it didn't occur to me to take the drawers out until I had managed to get it onto the landing? (All this right before the Out-laws arrived.) I'm still not sure how I managed not to damamge myself or the house. *g*
So, no time to read today. I can't even decide which book I got yesterday to read! I hope I'll have time tonight. Maybe. I hope. Then again after finishing everything that needs to be done I might just take a shower, climb into bed and fall asleep because I am tired.
Anyway, sorry to bore y'all with my day. I hope that y'alls was uneventful and stress-free, not to mention fun! I wish a sunny, pollen-free (that's the important part) laugh and smile filled day. Goodnight, B.
Exercise: I did everything above, please, please tell me that counts!? Please?
